Our History

Aanesland Treindustri was established in Birkeland in 1945, starting its operations after WWII with the production of ladders and flagpoles. Over the years, we have produced everything in word, from the production of kitchens to children's furniture, playground equipment, and garage doors. Today, we possess specialist expertise in all types of exterior and interior wooden railings and columns, both lathe-turned and square-profiled with routed grooves. We are a large-scale manufacturer of Swiss-chalet-style details and are Norway's sole producer of wooden flagpoles.

Through four generations, the company has been through a wide spectrum of products. Today, we also produce significantly for timber and builders' merchants and house construction industries. We collaborate closely on projects with architects, engineers, and contractors.

We custom-manufacture most items, whether they need to match an old model and profile, products in unique dimensions and lengths, or products made from hardwood.

Through the partnership with our sister company, Sørlamigering AS, we achieve a valuable synergy that provides us, as a subcontractor, with deeper technical expertise and greater flexibility. This collaboration expands our specialist knowledge in glulam (glued laminated timber) structures, enabling us to deliver better and more comprehensive solutions to our customers.

At the end of 2021, Aanesland Treindustri moved into a unique flagship building on Gaupemyrheia in Lillesand, easily accessible via the E18 motorway. The new factory has been significantly upgraded and modernised, but many tasks are still performed in the traditional manner, in a true craftsmanship style.
